Despite a thunderstorm that destroyed two gazebos, a heatwave which included the hottest day on record during set up and a downpour in the morning….
the Fundraising Charity Fun & Friendly Dog Show was a big success and it’s all thanks to you!!
The unpredictable weather was a huge challenge but thanks to the incredible volunteers it wasn’t going to stop the show (even if we thought we were going to have to call the whole thing off first thing).
With the wonderful Tom from Highcliff Vets judging alongside his Acorn VIP assistants, the rain held off from the first class to the last. There were performances from the fabulous Dog & Duck demonstrators John, Elaine & Ann, Fitsteps with Pauline and Music from Brenda and Friends. A special big thank you to Gill Lewis who not only put on all the Dog Games but also helped so much before the big day.
The show wouldn’t exist without the amazing sponsors helping to reduce costs and advertise the event. A huge thank you to every single one of them.
Our biggest thanks goes to the volunteers that this year overwhelmed us with their support, dedication and positivity. They truly made the show with their smiles and willingness to keep going in adverse conditions. We’ve had lovely feedback about the support and care members of the public were shown by the volunteers.
Seeing the members of the public support the charity despite the weather, by coming to enjoy the day really did move us this year. It was a day for staying indoors with a film but instead they came in their hundreds to make sure all the hard work that goes into an event such as this is paid off. We are all truly grateful. Thanks to you putting your hands in your pockets, you’ve helped raise over £5000 for the charity!
This will make such a difference to the lives of adults with learning disabilities. Thank you to everyone who was involved to make this happen.
