I remember watching Lester Piggott a famous flat jockey on tv when I was a little boy with my Grandad, we loved to see all the big races on a Saturday afternoon.

I still remember some of Lester’s winners, Never say Die, The Minstrel, Royal Academy & Nijinsky at Newmarket races.

Lester was a bit deaf like me. He did not pay his Tax and got into trouble.

He liked to smoke cigars. Lester rode horses for Vincent O’Brien, Aga Khan and Noel Murliss.

He had a house at Newmarket which is  where he retired to.
