A Trip to Colchester United
A group outing was arranged to go and watch Colchester United play. It was the first time Acorn has taken a group there and judging from their feedback they will be back to watch another match very soon!
Thank you to everyone who supports the charity allowing trips like this to take place.
“We went to see Colchester United vs Plymouth. The day was really cold but we went to McDonalds before the game to get some food.
The game was exciting because Colchester scored 3 goals in the first half!
The other team lost I was really happy about that! I cheered lots and there was lots of drumming noises in the crowd.
We got drinks at half time to warm us up, I had a coffee.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves and had a great afternoon out” – Andrew
“It was a really good day out, all the staff at Colchester United were really helpful and all the guys that we took along really got involved and enjoyed the match” – Kevin (staff member)
Having the confidence to go to somewhere such as a football match, feeling part of the community and learning all about the game (including the dreaded off-side rule) makes such a difference.
Thank you for helping to open up these opportunities.
