Acorn employs its own Training Manager and all staff are encouraged to participate in Training Workshops progressing on to obtain recognised qualifications in Care. Every member of the care staff can access into City & Guilds NVQ awards. Each member of staff has a Training Plan for their own personal development, therefore training is on-going according to individual needs and their role.

Acorn Villages has developed a Training Resource Centre to deliver the Induction Award in supporting people with a learning disability - vocational (No. 3100)

Employment opportunities at Acorn are varied and open to all ages and different levels of experience. Acorn Village is an Equal Opportunities Employer. School leavers are given the opportunity to come to Acorn for Work Experience and can continue on to be employed on a Training Scheme being guided by nominated mentors from the existing staff team and our Training Manager.

Positions include:Care Support Workers, Support Workers, Senior Care Support Workers, Home Coordinators, Home Managers, Care Managers, Registered Managers, Administrative Support, Financial Assistants, Workshop instructors, IT Support, Maintenance Manager and Ground Staff, Maintenance Team, Coffee Shop and Cafe Assistants, Principal Officers. Giving a staff total of approximately 200. Acorn also is supported by Volunteer workers both at Acorn Village and within our Charity Shops. As vacancies become available they are advertised in the local press and on our internal newsletter.
