Everyday life at Acorn is aimed at being fullfilling and interesting. For those under Acorns `umbrella' there is a wide range of interesting workshop activities such as weaving, art, needlecraft, quilt making, woodwork, gardening. A fully equiped soft room with light sensory features for relaxation, horseriding, swimming, computer work, cycling sessions, photography groups. The on-site Coffee Shop is a great favourite with residents, staff and the general public.

| Acorn provides the support and encouragement for access to opportunities in the local community. People develop and grow in contentment and self-confidence. Some attend Colleges for further education in Colchester or attend Pottery Classes or Keep-fit. Developing with our residents to provide a flexible approach to the various ideas which are suggested and changing to meet individual needs while sustaining favourite opportunities and activities. |
